PURPOSE: To obtain a borderless pattern capable of changing the hue in a stepless manner in the warp and/or weft directions in a woven fabric composed of previously dyed warp and weft yarns.

CONSTITUTION: When the hue of warp yarn is changed, at least two kinds of A-color yarn (1) and B-color yarn (2) are used and both the A- and B-color yarns (1) and (2) are alternately arranged. When a combination of the A-color yarn (1) with the B-color yarn (2) is used as one group, the weft yarn arrangement of the A-color yarn in each group is such that the mixing ratio of the A-color yarn changes from the minimum to the maximum or the maximum to the minimum. When the weft yarn hue is changed, the similar construction is obtained by using both X- and Y-color yarns are used in place of both A- and B-color yarns.
