Displacement of the wefts in the vertical direction between the neighboring upper layer wefts and/or between the neighboring lower layer wefts during weaving is 0-<a1/2 (a1 is a diameter of the weft), the crimp ratio of the upper layer warps and/or the lower layer warps during weaving is ≥20%. As the result of the sufficient bending of the warps and achievements of preferable woven fabric shape at a weaving stage by making this constitution, the woven fabric for paper making has the excellent surface smoothness at a paper making face side, strength, and excellent working stability.
