PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve traveling stability and dimensional stability in a woven fabric for papermaking.SOLUTION: A woven fabric 1 for papermaking includes: weft yarns 3 which include sets each including papermaking surface side weft yarns 3A and 3C and one or more traveling surface side weft yarns present in the number equal to 1/2 to 2/3 of the number of the papermaking surface side weft yarns; and warp yarns 2. Four of the warp yarns as a set form a sub-unit 41. A first warp yarn 11 and a fourth warp yarn 14 arranged at both ends in the sub-unit pass under a first traveling surface side weft yarn 31B. The first warp yarn passes over a first papermaking surface side weft yarn 33A. The fourth warp yarn passes over a second papermaking surface side weft yarn 33C. A second warp yarn 12 and a third warp yarn 13 arranged on an inner side in the sub-unit pass under a second traveling surface side weft yarn 33B. The second warp yarn passes over a third papermaking surface side weft yarn 31A, and the third warp yarn passes over a fourth papermaking surface side weft yarn 31C. Each sub-unit is arranged in a shifted manner in the extending direction of the weft yarns.
