PURPOSE: To obtain a woven fabric, haying a large quantity of energy absorption excellent in protecting performance for crew in causing collision accidents, etc., and useful for seat belts.

CONSTITUTION: Ultrahigh-strength low-elongation fiber and high-strength high- elongation fiber are used as weft yarn of a woven fabric for seat belts. Fiber having ≥20g/d tensile strength and ≤10% elongation is preferred as the aforementioned ultrahigh-strength low-elongation fiber. On the other hand, fiber having ≥5g/d tensile strength and ≥10% elongation is preferred as the above- mentioned high strength high-elongation fiber.
