Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject woven fabric capable of expressing a delicate light and shadow by interweaving three or more colored wefts and useful for an Obi (a belt to wear with one's Japanese clothing) by dividing plural light and shadow regions, expressing the whole or a part of the light and shadow regions by united colors.
SOLUTION: When a pattern on a part at the back (a Taiko part a trimming part of obi in the back side), etc., of a fukuro-obi (a kind of the obi) is constituted of mountains 2 having clear ridge lines 4 and 4, and clouds 3, the shadows of the mountains 2 are formed so as to be finely divided by the complicated feature and the colors of the shadows are delicately changed. Wefts having three or more colors are interwoven to express the color pattern, and the divided light and shadow regions is formed by alternately raising and sinking the yarns having colors selected for the divided light and shadow regions to provide united colors.
