Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fabric substantially analogous to a "cotton-made" fabric and to provide an untwisted thread cotton used for the fabric with a strength durable against various fabric processes without the need of subjecting a float cotton, which is a fiber bundle composing the thread cotton, to the twisting treatment.SOLUTION: Provided is a thread cotton 10 comprising: a core part 20 made of a core thread 21 and a float cotton 22, which is substantially an untwisted fiber bundle, for covering the core thread 21 and a winding thread 30 helically winding a circumference of the core part 20. Also provided is a fabric using the thread cotton 10. The core thread 21 and/or the winding thread 30 contains a thread made of soluble fiber or a yarn. The float cotton 22 is made of the fiber bundle of cotton. After forming a fabric by use of the thread cotton 10, the soluble fiber therein is dissolved and removed. The thread cotton 10 has a certain strength while it is untwisted fiber and the fabric using the thread cotton 10 has light weight and heat insulating property as well as soft, bulky, smooth feeling and excellent gloss.
