To obtain a woven rug without deteriorating the color tone of a right side pattern with dead yarns.

This woven rug is obtained by composing a ground construction of an upper and lower three layer structure of an upper layer 13 composed of weft yarns beaten in the upper side of a core warp yarn 21a by using the core warp yarn 21a, a binding warp yarn and plural pattern yarns 24 as unit warp yarns with the core warp yarn 21a as the right side and the pattern yarns 24 as the back side, an interlayer 14 composed of weft yarns beaten between the core warp yarn 21a and the pattern yarns 24 and a lower layer 15 composed of weft yarns beaten in the lower side of the pattern yarns 24 in the lower layer 15. The plural pattern yarns 24 arranged for each of the unit warp yarns are selectively pulled up to the surface of the upper layer 13 to pass over the weft yarns in the lower layer 13 and subsequently pass under the weft yarns in the interlayer 14 or the lower layer 15 and form surface picture elements 18. The unselected residual pattern yarns 24 are used as the dead yarns 28 and sandwiched between the weft yarns in the interlayer 14 and the weft yarns in the lower layer 15 to draw the surface pattern with the surface picture elements 18 on the surface of the upper layer 13.
