Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and smoothly execute wraparound packaging with marginal surplus parts of a packaging material held surely by a method wherein hold-down bars for pressing the marginal surplus parts of the packaging material projecting beyond the end faces of a roll against the end faces of the roll and holding are formed, and the hold-down bars are made to rotate together with chuck devices while being pressed against pressing positions.
SOLUTION: First of all, a roll core C is held with chuck device 1, and marginal surplus parts 2b at both sides of a unit packaging material 2 supplied, dangling from above, to positions, for instance, near the outer circumferential face of a roll R are pressed with hold-down bars 8 against faces at both ends of the roll R and held thereto. Then, with the unit packaging material 2 pressed against the roll R with a touch roller 3, the hold-down bars 8 are rotated together with the roll R and thereby the roll R is packed with the packaging material 2 in a wraparound package. After the wraparound packaging, the marginal surplus parts 2b projecting beyond the faces at both ends are folded down and converged and tucked into a hollow part of the roll core C. Thereby, the packaging material 2 can be held tightly and certainly and wraparound packaging can be executed smoothly while a packaging apparatus being constructed simply.
