Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wrapping base fabric having an excellent printing property, strength, heat sealability and openability and suitable for e.g. wrapping material for food by employing a unidirectionally oriented nonwoven fabric as a longitudinal or latitudinal base material.
SOLUTION: This base fabric is formed by uniaxially orienting a continuous- fiber nonwoven fabric spun from a thermoplastic resin of e.g. polyester or polypropylene and employing one or more layers of the thus obtained unidirectionally oriented nonwoven fabric having its unidirectionally orientated fibers as a longitudinal or latitudinal base material. A fineness of the fibers constituting the nonwoven fabric is pref. ≤1 denier and a tensile strength of the whole nonwoven fabric is pref. ≤1 g/denier. The other objective method comprises forming a synthetic resin layer of e.g. uniaxially oriented film on at least one surface of the wrapping base fabric for producing the wrapping material.
