PURPOSE: To prolong the service life of wringer rolls and to prevent insufficient liquid wringing by providing poststage wringer rolls for wringing liquid only in edge parts in both edge parts of a steel sheet in the poststage of a long-barrel prestage wringer roll and successively moving the worn and damaged part to the outside of the width of belt-like matter in accordance with the worn and damaged state in the edge parts.
CONSTITUTION: The poststage wringer rolls 8 used exclusively for edges are provided on a slide base at the rear of the ordinary prestage wringer roll 5, pressurized with air cylinders and liquid wringing is executed. By successively moving the worn and damaged part to the outside of the width of steel sheet in accordance with the worn and damaged state of the wringer rolls 8 used exclusively for edges, the life of the wringer rolls 8 is prolonged without deteriorating the liquid wringing performance in the edge parts. The poststage wringer rolls 8 are made so as to be movable to the outside of the width of steel sheet 1 due to wear, so they are combined so as to always execute liquid wringing with unworn surfaces.
