To provide an X-axis moving stage, which reduces as much as possible the influence of pitching or yawing caused by a pair of X-axis guide rails without raising the finishing accuracy of the pair of X-axis guide rails, and also to provide a press equipped with the same.

The X-axis moving stage is provided with: a work table 31 for placing a work W; an X-axis motor (an X-axis linear motor 32) for moving the work table 31; a pair of X-axis guide rails 34, which slidably support the work table 31 and further guide the moving of the work table 31 in the X-axis direction; and an X-axis base plate 35 for supporting the X-axis guide rails 34. The work table 31 has an X-axis table 43, which is guided by the pair of X-axis guide rails 34, and a work placing part (a set table 41), which places the work W in such a manner that the treatment surface of the work W has approximately the same height as that of the upper edge surface of the X-axis guide rails 34.
