To provide an X-ray computed tomography apparatus, an X-ray detection device, and an X-ray detection module in which a high counting rate of X-ray photons can be achieve without integrating detection signals in order to perform energy discrimination of the X-ray photons.
The X-ray computed tomography apparatus 1 includes: an X-ray generating part 105 for generating X-rays; an X-ray detection part 107 having a plurality of X-ray detection modules for detecting the X-rays generated by the X-ray generating part by energy width; a counting part 109 for counting the number of photons derived from the X-rays by energy width based on output from the X-ray detection part; and a reconstruction part 300 for reconstructing a medical image based on output from the counting part. Each of the X-ray modules 177 includes: a collimator 1771 for collimating the X-rays; a plurality of X-ray detection elements 1775 which are provided at a predetermined distance from the back face of the collimator; and a diffraction body 1773 which is provided on the back side of the collimator and diffracts the X-rays at angles corresponding to the energy of the X-rays.
