To provide an X-ray CT apparatus to improve the quality of a three-dimensional display image, an MPR display image, or an MIP display image ensured by a conventional (axial) scan, a cine scan, or a helical scan performed by an X-ray CT apparatus.
The X-ray CT apparatus includes an image reconstruction unit or an image display unit. The image reconstruction unit or image display unit measures deviations of tomographic images in a horizontal x direction and deviations thereof in a vertical y direction relative to the continuity in a z direction of a part that exhibits a higher CT value, such as a cradle, a head holder, the surface of a subject's body, or a bone that is visualized as a reference in the tomographic images. An image reconstruction means or image display mean is capable of improving the quality of a three-dimensional display image, an MPR display image, or an MIP display image. In order to measure the deviations of an image in the x and y directions, a feature extraction method, a pattern matching method, a gray-scale pattern matching method, or the like can be adopted.
