Abstract:
To provide a device for generating X-rays having a long service life and an improved convergence property of electron rays on an X-ray target.
The cold electron source 1 as a negative electrode and the X-ray target 3 as a positive electrode are provided in a vacuum-pumped housing 5 so that electron in the electron rays 2 discharged from the electron source 1 is accelerated toward the X-ray target 3 when voltage is applied between the negative electrode and the positive electrode. A device 7 for decreasing the component of positive ions in a range of the electron source 1 is provided between the electron source 1 and the X-ray target 3 in the housing 5.
