Title:
X-RAY TUBE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH1125893
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a short filament with little thermal deformation by inserting and crimping a metal pipe with hardness lower than that of molybdenum and small thermal conductivity between a cathode filament and a molybdenum anchor rod to fix it. SOLUTION: A filament 1 made of W material is wound in a coil shape to have a large surface area in a predetermined space, and is heated by electric current to emit a thermal electrons. A metal pipe 10 which has lower hardness than Mo, low thermal conductivity and low vapor pressure at a high temperature in vacuum is inserted in both end parts of the wire, and is also inserted in a Mo anchor rod 3 with a slit followed by caulking from outside the Mo anchor rod 3 so as to fix the filament to the Mo anchor rod 3. As a result of this caulking process, the pipe with low hardness is pressed down, is deformed, and adhered by the shape of the W filament 1 and a cut surface of a slit of the Mo anchor rod 3, so that the electrical contact and mechanical strength are maintained.
