To provide a system device for information display including a large- sare surface, a substantially flat panel type small-sized video display for displaying information from a computer, and a position determining device with positions the display at one point on the table surface and changes the information when the display moves from the one point.
A table-shaped X-Y work space of large area constitutes a base for a flat panel type view-port display 100 which moves on the surface of the space. The part of information displayed on the view-port display 100 is determined according to the position of the view-port display 100 on the table 110. When the top surface of the table 110 is used as a backlight type display, an image of low resolution is projected on the surface of the table and information selected in relation with information projected below, e.g. an image of high resolution, an image of infrared-ray photography, map information, etc., are displayed on the view-port display 100. The view port is lifted from the table surface and then the part of the image on the screen is fixed, so that the image in one view port can be transferred to another view port.
