The method for acquiring position information of the yard crane comprises a step of setting a first reference point 21a to any one of a plurality of containers, and arranging and positioning a tip of a boom 6 vertically above the first reference point 21a, a step of calculating the distance in the horizontal direction from a turning center O to the first reference point 21a of the boom 6, a step of setting a second reference point on the plurality of containers separately from the first reference point 21a, a step of calculating the distance in the horizontal direction from the turning point O to the second reference point of the boom 6, and a step of specifying the relative position between a yard crane body 14 and the plurality of containers based on the known array of the plurality of containers, two calculated distances, and the turning angle of the boom 6.
