To provide a yarn dividing machine, unreeling a filament formed by bundling a number of monofilaments with low yarn tension, dividing the same with yarn tension, and further taking up the respective monofilaments with enough low yarn tension.

This yarn dividing machine includes: a single plumb drive type unreeling device 10; a yarn dividing part 20 for dividing a yarn into the respective monofilaments; take-up parts 30 respectively provided with a single plumb drive type take-up device; and a control device 50 for controlling the unreeling speed of the unreeling device and the take-up speed of the take-up devices. In the machine, a first tension sensor SA for detecting the yarn tension of one yarn and a second tension sensor SB for detecting the tension of the respective separated monofilaments are disposed to control the the unreeling speed of the unreeling device and the take-up speed of the take-up devices according to tension signals from the respective tension sensors.
