Abstract:

PURPOSE: To concurrently satisfy the improvement of yarn quality and the reduction of friction resistance and perform the fiber manufacturing process at a high speed by forming a yarn guide section with a composite ceramic containing free carbon, and specifying the center line average roughness (Ra) of the surface.
CONSTITUTION: This yarn guide 1 is formed into a pin shape, and the whole is made of a composite ceramic containing free carbon. The center line average roughness (Ra) of the surface 1a guiding the yarn of the yarn guide 1 is set to 0.4μm or below to form a smooth face. When a fiber 2 is guided on the surface 1a, such trouble that fuzzing occurs on the fiber 2 can be prevented because the surface 1a is a smooth face. Since the yarn guide 1 itself contains free carbon having a self-lubricating action, the friction resistance with the fiber 2 can be reduced, and a high yarn feeding speed can be coped with. A metal oxide or a metal carbide such as alumina, zirconia, silicon carbide, or the like is used for the composite ceramic containing free carbon.
