To obtain a yarn for preventing discoloration, hardly changing the color by penetrated water even when the yarn is wetted by rain, sweat, etc., and useful for a knitted or woven fabric by forming the outside layer of the yarn from synthetic fibers containing a prescribed amount of a white pigment, and the inside layer from water-absorbing and diffusing fibers.
This yarn for preventing discoloration has two or more multilayered structures. The outside layer is formed of synthetic fibers such as polyester fibers containing 1-6 wt.% white pigment such as titanium oxide, zinc oxide, magnesium oxide and calcium carbonate, and the inside layer is formed of a water-absorbing and diffusing fibers comprising wool, cotton, etc. The yarn has properties for preventing discoloration with water. Further, the size of the yarn is 30-150 d when the yarn is formed from filaments and 10-40/s (cotton count) when the yarn is a spun yarn.
