This yarn winder has a yarn feeding part 3, a motor 41 driving winding bobbins 6 and 7 for winding the yarn, a traverse device 5 having the traverse guide 11 positioned between the yarn feeding part 3 and the winding bobbins 6 and 7, an ending device 14 connecting the yarn of the yarn feeding part 3 to the yarn on the winding bobbin 6, 7 side, capturing guiding means 17 and 20 capturing and guiding the yarn of the yarn feeding part 3 and the winding bobbins 6 and 7 to the ending device 14, a yarn clearer 15 and an analyzer 23 detecting the cut of the yarn. A control device stops the motor 41 and the traverse device 5 when detecting the cut of the yarn, and then, operates the ending device 14 and both capturing guiding means 17 and 20 while reversely rotating the winding bobbins 6 and 7. The control device has an operation stopping control means 46a of the traverse device 5, and this operation stopping control means 46a controls so that the traverse guide 11 stops in a traverse stroke end before operating a needle thread capturing guiding means 20.
