To provide a yarn winding device capable of precisely measuring the length of a yarn wound onto a package.
A winding unit 10 of an automatic winder is configured to wind the yarn of a prescribed length onto the package 30. This winding unit 10 is provided with a yarn pool section 71, a servomotor 55, and a yarn length control section 90. The yarn pool section 71 is configured to store the yarn before being wound onto the package 30. The servomotor 55 is driven for feeding the yarn to the yarn pool section 71. The yarn length control section 90 is configured to count the normal rotation pulse signal of the servomotor 55 by a feed count section 91 so that the yarn of the prescribed length is wound onto the package 30. Then, the length of the yarn wound onto the package 30 is calculated based on the count value of the normal rotation pulse signal.
