To provide a yarn winding device reduced in winding failure of a yarn around an empty bobbin when switching bobbins and capable of accurately controlling the amount of bunch winding formed after winding the yarn around the empty bobbin.
This yarn winding device comprises a yarn thrust guide 30 for thrusting a yarn Y to a bunch winding position outside a traverse range in the axial direction of the bobbin 20 when the yarn Y reaches a full-wound package 21 through an empty bobbin 20b, a yarn fall preventing guide 31 for preventing a fall of the yarn Y from the empty bobbin 20b, from the full-wound package 21, and a yarn holding mechanism 40 for holding the yarn Y thrusted to the bunch winding position by the yarn thrust guide 30 when switching the bobbins. Further, a fixed guide 41 of the yarn holding mechanism 40 is integrally provided with the yarn fall preventing guide 31, and a movable portion 42 of the yarn holding mechanism 40 is integrally provided with the yarn thrust guide 30.
