PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily wind a yarn around a yarn winding device.SOLUTION: A yarn collecting portion provided between a yarn feeding portion and a package forming portion has a rotary collection drum 50 wound with a yarn Y to collect. At an end portion of a package forming portion side in an axial direction of the rotary collection drum 50, a traveller 73 is provided, which moves along an annular guide rail 72 extending so as to surround an outer peripheral surface of the rotary collection drum 50 in a circumferential direction to move a periphery of the rotary collection drum 50. The traveller 73 has an opening portion 73a at an end portion on a yarn feeding portion side in the axial direction of the rotary collection drum 50. When threading a winding unit, the yarn Y laid between the yarn feeding portion and the package forming portion is induced into the traveller 73 from the opening portion 73a, thereby threading the traveller 73. In this state, the rotary collection drum 50 is rotated to wind the yarn Y around the rotary collection drum 50, thereby threading the rotary collection drum 50.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
