PURPOSE: To prevent the yarn from getting caught by a friction roller in the process of winding a yarn from a spinning machine on bobbins by reducing the distance of contact between the yarn and a friction roller on the opposite side of a traverse guide.
CONSTITUTION: A yarn Yd from a spinning machine is wound up continuously on bobbins 13d, 14d rotating in pressed contact with a friction roller 5. Bobbins 13d, 14d are fitted on winding shafts 9, 10 mounted on both ends of an arm 11 which turns in the direction indicated by an arrow. When an empty bobbin has come into the position A, a guide 1 is moved forward to stop the traverse motion of a guide 3d and the yarn is passed through a guide 38d and then it is positioned to face the yarn hooking part of the bobbin. Then guide 1 is retracted to cause a supporting frame 20 to tilt into the position c to correctly guide and touch the yarn to the yarn hooking part of the bobbin and then the yarn is wound on the bobbin for about 2 to 3sec. At this time the supporting frame which actuates the switch is returned to its original position. Then the bobbin is pressed and moved into the position A' where it is wound with a yarn until it becomes full. The above arrangement reduces the distance of contact between a yarn and roller 5 when the yarn is hooked on a bobbin.
