Abstract:
To provide efficient methods for obtaining yeast having a high RNA yield, in particular yeast strains suitable for industrial RNA production.SOLUTION: Disclosed is a method for obtaining yeast variants which exhibit higher RNA yield as compared with a parent strain when cultured, the method comprising the steps of: (1) treating a yeast strain with a mutagen; (2) selecting yeast variants having vanillin resistance; and (3) selecting strains of high RNA yield as compared with the parent strain.SELECTED DRAWING: None
