Title:
YUKATA MATERIAL OF SILK-COTTON MIXED WOVEN FABRIC AND ITS PRODUCTION
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH1037040
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a Yukata material (cotton-based cloth for summer kimono) which gives no stiff touch of cotton, but flexible touch and good skin feeling, resistant to wrinkling with excellent restoration of wrinkles, wearable throughout the all seasons, cool in the summer and warm in the winter, having the high-grade and refresh feeling, can be washed as in cotton cloth with high sweat absorption without sticking to the skin with reduced generation of static electricity, shows a silk gloss, high elasticity and good fabric hand due to the weaving pattern and also provide its weaving process.

This cloth is produced by power weaving the warp 1 and the weft 4 with a loom 6, scouring 7, finishing 8 and dyeing the woven cloth. In this case, the weaving is done using a power loom having 4 shuttles on both sides with a narrow reed space, namely 44cm wide. As the warp, 3,700-3,800 silk yarns 1 of 20 middle - 28 middle thickness are used to effect warping 2 and warp tying 3. Cotton yarns of 30th to 50th are used as the weft 4 and wound up around the bobbins 5. The mixing ratio of the silk yarns to the cotton yarns is (53%-68%)/(47%-32%), the warp is opened by the Jacquard machine to form a pattern by means of the graph paper used for designing fabric to give a weaving pattern matching the fabric hand of the cloth.
