PURPOSE: To form the crystalline zeolite SSZ-32 of a new composition by using an N-lower alkyl-N'-isopropyl-imidazolium cation as a template (mold) and to provide a process for transforming hydrocarbon by using the crystalline zeolite SSZ-32.
CONSTITUTION: The method for preparing this zeolite having the molar ratio of about (20:1)-(40:1) or below to aluminum oxide of silicon oxide and the X-ray diffraction line of a table 1 includes a process (a) for preparing an aqueous mixture containing the source of an alkali metal oxide, the N-lower alkyl-N'- isopropyl-imidazolium cation, the aluminum oxide and the silicon oxide, a process (b) for maintaining the mixture at the temperature of at least 140°C and generating the crystal of the zeolite, and a process (c) for recovering the crystal. A hydrocarbon transformation process includes the process of bringing a hydrocarbon raw material into contact with the zeolite under hydrocarbon transformation conditions.
