Abstract:
To provide a negative electrode active material of zinc that can solve defects in the conventional art: producing a negative electrode material by rolling induces the growth of crystal grains of zinc, leading to frequent generation of gas.SOLUTION: A zinc foil includes crystal grains of zinc with a size of 0.2-50 μm. The zinc foil preferably has zinc as the base material and also includes a metal element other than zinc. The metal element is preferably at least one selected from the group consisting of bismuth, indium, magnesium, calcium, gallium, tin, barium, strontium, silver, and manganese. The content of the metal element is preferably 10-10,000 ppm inclusive on a mass basis. The zinc foil preferably has an apparent density of 3 g/cm3 to 7 g/cm3 inclusive by outer dimensional measurement.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
