Abstract:

To provide a zinc separation method and an appliance for separating zinc which separate zinc from iron material having deposited zinc while preventing oxidation of iron material part of the iron material having deposited zinc although there is an oxidizing atmosphere in a furnace.

Galvanized steel sheet scraps 1, 1, ... and calcined cokes 2, 2, ... are stored in a basket 11 with an opening part 11a formed therein, at the same time, a barrier layer 3 made of the calcined cokes 2 is formed between the galvanized steel sheet scraps 1, 1, ... and the opening part 11a, the basket 11 is arranged in a heating furnace 100 of the oxidizing atmosphere, the temperature in the heating furnace 100 is raised to 1,050°C and, thereby, zinc is vaporized from the galvanized steel sheet scraps 1, 1, ....
