Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To retard hydrogen gas evolution and enhance battery characteristics by adjusting the contents of chromium and nickel in the specified values or less.
SOLUTION: A molten zinc alloy 3 is stored in a furnace 2 set on a hopper 1, the zinc alloy 3 is let flow from the lower part of the furnace 2, high pressure gas 4 is jetted to the zinc alloy 3 to obtain zinc alloy power having the specified particle size. Zinc containing 0.001-0.1wt.% aluminum, 0.001-0.1wt.% bismuth, 0.001-0.1wt.% indium, and 0.5ppm or less each of chromium and nickel is used to manufacture the zinc alloy powder.
