To provide a ceramic porous sheet having porous property which has sufficient strength to accept mechanization of a calcination preprocess and alleviate a peripheral part drooping phenomenon and can also sufficiently and evenly diffuse decomposed gas occurring at green sheet calcination time, and a method for manufacturing the same.
A ceramic porous sheet 3 is used as a spacer in a process where a zirconia green sheet 2 is calcined, the end faces of the ceramic porous sheet 3 having a lower porosity than at a middle part on the upper surface thereof. The porosity at end faces of the ceramic porous sheet 3 is 2% and over to and including 20% and that at a middle part on the upper surface thereof is 30% and over to and including 85%, by which strength is increased. Also, a manufacturing method for the ceramic porous sheet 3 involves immersing end faces of the ceramic porous sheet 3 having a porosity of 30% and over to and including 85% in a slurry, with a viscosity of 1 Pa-s and over to and including 20 Pa-s, which contains at least one kind selected from the group of alumina, zirconia, and mullite, before being dried and calcined.
