Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain the title Zr alloy by specifying the compsn. consisting of Ti, O, Fe, Cr, H, N, W, V, Mo and Zr.

CONSTITUTION: The zirconium alloy having excellent corrosion resistance in nitric acid and creep strength has the compsn. contg., by weight, 5.0-26% Ti, 0.05-0.2% O, ≤0.3% Fe, ≤0.1% Cr, ≤0.01% H and ≤0.05% N, furthermore contg. 0.05-3% total of one or more kinds among W, V and Mo and the balance Zr with inevitable impurities. The alloy has low corrosion speed even in low- medium-high concn. nitric acid and has no generation of stress corrosion cracking even when the potential rises. By this method, the Zr alloy suitable as a structural member in high temp. and high concd. high oxidizing nitric acid such as a plant for manufacturing of nitirc acid or the like can be obtd.
