Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform automatic zoom control with a composition suitable for a scene determined on the basis of subject detection information without requiring a photographer to select a composition.SOLUTION: In an imaging device, a subject detection part detects a subject image from an image. An automatic zoom control part performs zoom control according to the size of a subject detected by the subject detection part. The automatic zoom control part automatically selects a specific composition from a plurality of compositions and sets a reference size of the subject to be used for control of zoom magnification on the basis of the selected composition and the size and position of the detected subject. Scene determination processing is performed by using information including a result of detection by the subject detection part; composition selection processing is performed on the determined scene; and any of a composition of the upper part 1400 of the subject, a composition of the whole body 1401 of the subject, a composition of the face 1402 of the subject, and a composition of a plurality of people 1403 is selected.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 14
