To provide an inexpensive and compact zoom lens adaptable to high pixelation and especially suitable to be mounted on a small-sized information terminal.

The zoom lens is provided with a 1st negative group 11, a 2nd positive group 12 and a 3rd positive group 13 which are successively arranged from the object side and composed so that the 1st and 2nd groups 11, 12 are moved at the time of zooming. The 1st group is composed of a negative lens (1st lens G1) composed of a spherical or aspherical lens and a positive meniscus spherical lens (2nd lens G2) turning a convex face to the object side. The 2nd group 12 is composed of a plastic aspherical lens (3rd lens G3) having both convex shapes in a paraxial vicinity, a spherical lens (4th lens G4) having both convex shapes and a spherical lens (5th lens G5) joined with the 4th lens G4 and having both concave shapes. The 3rd group 13 is constituted of only one aspherical positive lens (6th lens G6) turning its convex face to the image side. At least one of the 1st lens G1 and the 6th lens G6 is composed of a plastic lens.
