PURPOSE: To keep a lens out of the visual field of a finder to minimize the parallax of the finder by making the total length from the apex of the front surface of a front lens to a focal surface shorter than 1.8Fs (Fs is a short focal length) when a short focal length is set, and making it shorter than FL (FL is a long focal length) when a long focal length is set.
CONSTITUTION: In the lens, there are provided with a front negative lens structure body, a positive lens structure body, a positive cemented compound lens structure body, a rear negative lens structure body 33 consisting of three lenses. Four lens structure bodies which can be moved in the axial direction to change the focal length at least in a range of 2.5:1, and a diaphragm provided with the first positive lens structure body are provided. The total length from the apex of a front surface R1 of the front lens A to the focal surface is made shorter than 1.8Fs when the short focal length is set and is made shorter than FL at the time of setting the long focal length. Thus, such small-sized zoom lens is obtained that a part of the front end doesn't interfere with the visual field of the finder even when the finder is arranged closely to an image pickup lens for the purpose of reducing the parallax.
