Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water purification filter causing a small pressure loss, difficultly causing a clog, and excellent in water purification performance per filter unit volume, and an activated carbon sheet for water purification making up the same.SOLUTION: The activated carbon sheet for water purification is a sheet obtained by wet papermaking composed of 100 mass% of a mixture containing 50-80 mass% of a pulverulent activated carbon (A), 2-30 mass% of a fibrous activated carbon (B), 5-15 mass% of a thermally fusible fiber (C) having a fiber diameter of 10-25 μm, and 5-10 mass% of a cellulose type or acrylic pulp (D), in which the pulverulent activated carbon (A) has a median size of 30-120 μm, the sheet has a basis weight of 80-170 g/m, and a layered sheet produced by thermo-bonding two sheets has a peeling strength of 10 g/20 mm or more. The water purification filter is produced by molding the activated carbon sheet and has an apparent density of 0.35-0.55 g/cm.
