Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an active material for a battery, which enables the materialization of a nonaqueous electrolyte battery which is superior in performances of rapid charge and discharge, and which can exhibit a high energy density.SOLUTION: Provided is an active material for a battery. The active material for a battery comprises: an orthorhombic crystal type complex oxide 100 expressed by the general formula Ti(NbTa)O(0≤x≤1). In the oxide 100, the average valence of niobium (Nb) 101 and/or tantalum (Ta) 101 is 4.95 or larger.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
