PURPOSE: To provide a method for pressing chips and a processing equipment for chips, by which chips can be stably pressed and the equipment can be miniaturized regardless of the kind of the base stock of chips.
CONSTITUTION: When supplying coil-shaped chips generated from a machine tool from the hopper 3 of a chip processing equipment 1 to the inside of a processing chamber 2 through a chip inlet 22, four chip feed shafts 4 rotate around the center axis line L of the processing chamber 2. Since the chip feed shafts 4 are in a tapered shape, chips are sent out toward a chip outlet 21 while they entwine the chip feed shafts 4. The chips sent out toward the chip outlet 21, stop in a chip stay part 20. On the other hand, since new chips are sent out, they are continuously crushed, and become columnar chip press bodies.
