Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air cleaner and an engine intake system capable of properly suppressing the drop of an insulation effect, which accompanies the elongation of a drive time of an engine.SOLUTION: An air cleaner is equipped, on the outer face of a housing 20 accommodating a filter medium therein, with a heat insulation part 22 of a double wall structure having an inter-wall space 25 between an outer wall surface 20a and an inner wall surface 24a of a cover 24 jointed to the outer wall surface 20a. The air cleaner is further equipped with: a communication hole 27 for providing communication between the inter-wall space 25 of the heat insulation part 22 and the inside of the housing 20; and a piping connection part 28 for connecting a pipeline 23 made to communicate with the inter-wall space 25. Moreover, the pipeline 23 is connected to a surge tank of an intake passage so that the intake negative pressure during the engine operation is utilized to establish the flow of air to pass through the inter-wall space 25.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
