Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plume reduction device and method at a cooling tower of which cost-effectiveness is superior and operation is efficient.SOLUTION: A cooling tower [10] including evaporating means and a liquid spray system [32] for use in spraying high temperature liquid onto the evaporating means. The cooling tower has a pair of heat exchanger modules [18] each of which comprises a first set of passages [17] individually communicated in liquid with first flow ducts [20] and a second set of passages [19] individually communicated in liquid with second flow ducts [22]. The heat exchanger modules transmit heat from a first air flow to a second air flow. The cooling tower further includes first bypass flow passages [70] extending among the first heat exchanger modules and the second heat exchanger modules, and bypass doors [24] adjust air flow passing the bypass flow passages.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
