To provide an Al alloy for lining a storage container of a high-pressure hydrogen gas, which does not cause the deterioration of a material due to hydrogen embrittlement even when the charging pressure is made higher, also extends the fatigue life in a low cycle, and consequently extends the useful life of the high-pressure container.
The aluminum alloy for the storage container of the high-pressure hydrogen gas includes, Mg and Si in a range satisfying Mg≤1.73Si-0.52%, Mg≤1.5%, Mg≥0.9% and Si≤1.8%, and 0.01 to 0.7% of Fe, and the balance substantially Al. The aluminum alloy may further include 0.1 to 1.5% Cu, or one or more elements selected from 0.05 to 1.2% Mn, 0.01 to 0.4% Cr, 0.01 to 0.3% Zr, 0.01 to 0.5% Sc and 0.01 to 0.3% V.
