Abstract:
In order to provide a technique that provides high operability and makes it easy to find an insertion route to an affected area in an endoscopic examination, an image process unit 11 of a medical video recording and reproducing system 100 generates video data of a subject on the basis of a captured-image signal from an image capturing unit 3. A characteristic point information generation unit 14 generates, for a specified frame in video data, characteristic point information. A server 4 records characteristic point information and video data in an associated manner. A reproduction control unit 16 controls reproduction of a past video on the basis of at least one piece of video data read from the server 4. A synthesization unit 12 generates synthesized image data obtained by synthesizing live video data from the image process unit 11 and past video data from the reproduction control unit 16 in such a manner that the live video and the past video are displayed simultaneously, and outputs an obtained synthesized image data. The monitor 2 displays a synthesized image based on the synthesized image data. The reproduction control unit 16 conducts control of pausing reproduction at a frame to which the characteristic point information of the past video data is added.
