Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a levitating head slider that can start the rotation of a recording disk normally even when a spindle motor is turned reversely.
SOLUTION: When a magnetic disk is at a standstill, a slider body 22 is supported by support legs 33, 34, 35 with reference to a disk face. Air bearing surfaces 27, 28 face the disk face by keeping an interval so as not to come directly into contact with the disk face. The contact area of this levitating head slider with reference to the disk face is reduced. A suction force which acts on the levitating head slider is weakened from lubricating oil or moisture which is spread on the disk face. Even when the levitating head slider is tilted according to the reverse rotation of the magnetic disk by making use of the support legs 34, 35 as fulcrums, uneven faces 36, 38 come into contact with the disk face, and an increase in the contact area of the levitating head slider with reference to the disk face can be reduced as far as possible. In it possible to prevent a rotation defect of the magnetic disk due to an increase in frictional force.
