Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide production method of glossy coated paper suitable for high-speed coating while eliminating deterioration of luster and smoothness of white paper, and preventing occurrence of stalactite.
CONSTITUTION: In production of glossy coated paper having 10-16g/m2 coated amount on one face, base paper is coated with a coting composition containing 50-70wt.% g round limestone having 0.5-0.9μm average particle diameter and 30-50w.t% of kaolin, lightly subjected to calendering treatment by using a calendering equipment consisting of a metal roll having ≤1.0μm surface roughness (Rz: average roughness of ten samples) difined by JIS 0651 and an elastic roll at 100-150°C so as to make ≤50% luster (JIS P-8142 75 degree luster of white paper), and further subjected to super calendering finish to make ≥60% gloss to give the objective high-quality glossy coated paper.
