Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of balancing a rotor of a rotary machine at high speed.SOLUTION: A rotary machine has a stator and the rotor supported in the stator by at least two radial magnetic bearings. A balancing method includes steps of; placing the rotor inside the stator; performing at least one first run in order to identify magnitude and angular location of unbalance in a first speed range below a critical speed, placing first balancing masses inside the rotor on predefined first balancing planes, performing at least one second run in order to identify magnitude and angular location of unbalance in a second speed range above the critical speed; and placing second balancing masses inside the rotor on predefined second balancing planes.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
