Abstract:
To provide a ball valve reduced in change of a flow rate to a rotation angle of a valve element.SOLUTION: A ball valve includes: a valve casing 5 provided with fluid inflow/outflow ports 6-8; a spherical valve element 2 rotatably held in the valve casing 5 through valve seats 9 and 10; and a valve rod rotating the valve element 2. The valve element 2 is provided with fluid channels 15 and 16 opened to a spherical face. Opening portions to the spherical face, of the fluid channels 15 and 16 are provided with notch grooves 17 and 18 extending to one side in a rotating direction of the valve element 2. The notch grooves 17 and 18 have bottom surfaces 17a and 18a recessed from the spherical face substantially vertically to an axis of the opening portion. For example, in a state in which only the first notch groove 17 of the valve element 2 is opened on a valve seat hole 9a of the first valve seat 9, a clearance is formed between the bottom surface 17a of the first notch groove 17 and a seal face of the first valve seat 9 when viewed in a section vertical to the bottom surface 17a of the first notch groove 17, and a first outlet hole 15 of the valve element 2 and a first outflow passage 7 of the valve casing 5 are communicated through the clearance.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
