Abstract:
To provide a rod cutting machine that is able to cut a rod, with a cutter positioned closer to a grounding surface.SOLUTION: A rod cutting machine comprises: an electric motor 21; a transmission mechanism that transmits power of an electric motor; a rotary shaft 13 that is rotated by a transmission mechanism; a cutter 12 that is connected to the rotary shaft, rotates around the rotary shaft, and cuts a rod by contact of an outer peripheral side portion thereof with the rod; and a grounding member 11 that is disposed on a rod side of the cutter, comes into contact with a grounding surface G, and has a flat bottom surface that enables positioning of the cutter with respect to the rod. The grounding member is disposed so as to overlap at least a part of the cutter in a direction perpendicular to the bottom surface. In the cutter, an outer peripheral side portion 12a including a circular outer peripheral part is disposed at an angle to a flat surface perpendicular to the rotary shaft. In the rotary shaft, of the outer peripheral side portion of the cutter, a portion overlapping the grounding member is disposed in a direction parallel to the bottom surface.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
