PURPOSE:To provide a basket for heating zinc plated steel sheet scrap, which is employed in a vacuum treatment furnace and capable of unifying the temperatures of respective parts of charged steel sheet scrap in a comparatively short period of time or capable of separating various foreign metallic scraps or plated metals from the steel sheet scrap in a short period of time. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of bottom plates 6, widthwisely extending at the bottom of a frame body 5 formed so as to have a rectangular box shape, are attached with a proper gap 7 in the lengthwise direction of the frame body while partitioning dam forming plates 8, having a proper width smaller than the width of the gap 7, are extended horizontally between the sides of the frame body so as to be positioned above the gap 7 properly. On the other hand, a basket main body 2, in which porous plates 11, 12, 13 are extended between the inside part of the frame body as well as the side rims of the opening of the bottom plates and the side rim of the partitioning dam forming plates, is provided whereby the heat receiving area of the basket main body is increased and heat transfer distances from this surface to respective parts of charged zinc plated steel sheet scrap can be averaged.
