Abstract:
To provide a bearing unit and a continuous annealing furnace capable of suppressing the occurrence of electrolytic corrosion in a bearing.SOLUTION: The bearing unit rotatably supports an end portion of a hearth roll from outside an annealing furnace body. The hearth roll transports a steel strip inside the annealing furnace body that is for continuous annealing the steel strip by induction heating. The bearing unit includes a bearing housing fixed to the annealing furnace body, a self-aligning bearing accommodated in the bearing housing, and a sleeve fixed on an outer peripheral surface of an outer ring of the self-aligning bearing and slidably contacting an inner peripheral surface of the bearing housing. The sleeve is made of an insulating material having heat resistance.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
